(The moment that Rei opens the door into her home she will be greeted by a soft musical tune. This tune will continue to play until she discovers the source.
The source is a tiny music box that has been left on the pillow of her bed. Tied around the base of the music box is a blood stained white ribbon that has been tied into a neat bow. Untying the bow from the box will reveal a note along the inside of the ribbon that has been written in cursive black ink:
The music will disorient any being plagued with madness for no more than thirty seconds. It takes fifteen seconds to play the full song. You must play the full song for it to work.
Thank you -S
The windows to her room have been left wide open, and the room looks as if it is suspended in some temporary gloom of blues and greys no matter the time of day. If she were to look out her window, she would see a massive full moon far bigger than the one that is typically seen in Deerington.
The instant she picks up the music box, her room will resume its normal appearance and the outside scene will vanish into Deerington's normal skies.)

Well....if you mean when the leg things got agitated, I was there.
With other people, of course. We'd been together for most of the day, and we'd freed another creature which bought us some time but ah...yes, I was there. For a bit.
[There's a camera tripod on the doorstep, a large red ribbon wrapped around its legs. Beside it, there's a small box wrapped in bright red foil, a silky silver ribbon tied around it with a bow on top. Inside the box meanwhile are several rolls of film. On top of the pile is a simple piece of white cardstock paper with elegant cursive words penned in red ink (notice a pattern?), as if written with a quill or a fountain pen.
Happy holidays.
Who could have sent it? Well, all that red looks a lot like the red a certain someone likes to wear, right?]
Sometime around the 25th, a Delivery Dog arrives with the following
[ The package in shimmering silver paper is a little crudely wrapped - what's inside is oddly shaped. Someone wasn't able to do a good job here but it's certain that an attempt was made - that's the main thing isn't it?
Hidden within is a small, hand-carved deer - no bigger than the palm of an average human hand. Much like the wrapping paper, the figure is a little on the crude side: there's nothing startlingly expert in the craftsmanship. But someone's clearly taken their time to carve the little deer and tried their best - even the roughest edges have been sanded down a little. Eyes, noses and hooves have been coloured with a black marker.
[ A package! It's wrapped oddly, which ends up being likely because of the shape; it's a mug that says "#1 Teacher" on it in fancy letters. There's also an empty photo album; not huge and lightweight, easy for carrying in a bag. There's a small note written inside of a silly card: ]
It's not as cool as a gallery, but it's a spot to keep the photos that you want to keep a little closer to you! Thanks for everything Rei- I mean it. Hope you have a nice winter time, and don't fall asleep for another month anytime soon!

[ Belated Xmas gift, backdated to the 24th of Dec. ]
[ There’s two boxes that arrive on Rei’s doorstep. The smaller one has a silver necklace inside, the pendant a camera with a deep blue stone set in place of the viewfinder.
The other is much larger, and a lot less conventional: a silver-blue pistol with a black grip and intricate filigree along the barrel. The note tucked into the larger box is much less formal than the gifts themselves.
The package is simply signed with his name. Everything he has to say that goes along with these gifts doesn't lend itself well to paper. ]
[She's touched. Absolutely touched. She did not expect any sort of gift like this. The necklace goes on right away, and the gun...
That, she tucks away to be used for later. She'll need to get the bullets for both of them. While there's a lot of things she can say, she sends a simple text:]
[ It's not 3:AM, but it is pretty late in the evening when a sleeping Shinichi's Fluid device is hijacked. By an alien who sends every single sentence as a separate text, which means Rei's notifications will be going off in succession. ...He's new to SNS. ]
I am Migi.
Shinichi told me about your experience in the sinkhole.
I am curious about these corpses you described as dolls.
[She knew it. Good thing that she was up late, reading and having a last cup of tea, her device went off.
Hoo boy, there it goes.]
Hello Migi! You can send everything in one entire message if you want. I learned that myself, when I arrived.
[Just so her device won't be going crazy.]
You could smell the death of them. To every normal sense, the corpses looked like the dead-strangely well preserved, even with the sent of rot. Unclothed, and they'd been shaved. They looked terrified.
It was as if they'd died scared.
Same for the initial pile as it was for the...best I could call it the corpse road leading away from there.
But they were slightly different, as some were semi active and aggressive.
[ Migi is nothing if not adaptable, and if he's being told that sending things all at once is how it's meant to be done -- that's what he'll do.
.... Except now he doesn't even separate by lines. It's just one huge block.... What's worse, notification spam or an eyesore of question spam? ]
Shaved... Terrified.. That is concerning. It is almost as though they were murdered. But you are saying that they were like dolls, not human. How could they smell like rot if they weren't organic? I heard someone else mention this road of stitched-together bodies. Whomever did this accomplished an incredible feat. Aggressive? Do you mean that you were attacked?
you can also press the enter key, the arrow down and facing to the left to separate thoughts.
It did look like they were murdered but-it was as if, once they were photographed through my camera, that they weren't real. They're transparent in the photographs themselves.
But even while I was taking it, I could smell them.
I think a reasonable theory is to say they are meant to react like humans in the physical sense, but they're not human.
And yes. I was attacked. They were armed with thread and needles, and could not communicate.
Separate thoughts... to make it more conversational. I see.
[ While he's certainly interested in the conversation about the sinkhole, Migi's always thinking about multiple things at once. And learning more about how humans communicate is just as interesting to him.
...Which means he's now seeking an impromptu lesson in How to Human from poor Rei. ]
Is this also the purpose of the little symbols that can be used? The ones with faces and random objects?
[ Shinichi doesn't use emoji so he has no idea. ]
Your theory seems to go along with the notion that all of this has been orchestrated by someone, intentionally. I would be interested in seeing your photographs sometime.
And also easier to read, for the writer and the reader.
[She's pretty sure Migi can read faster and process more, if only by the sheer volume of questions he peppered out. But well. He's trying. That's something.]
I think they're supposed to express emotions? I'm not really sure, I'm before global wireless phone use.
[Let's hope Migi doesn't go to Chloe for emoji use...that might make it so everything is eggplants.]
Yes and no. It could be that they're constructs, and they're there because they're expected to be there. Like how if you were dreaming of a garden, you would expect there to be trees in a garden, but they're blurry.
Or how you're in a movie theatre, and you're surrounded by people, but you don't see their faces.
I've an extensive collection. Some of them are still in place at the gallery in town, showing the Unmasked world compared to the regular world if you're interested.
